Flying the Socata TB21 Trinidad

Install the Socata TB21 Trinidad to your FSX \SimObjects\Airplanes folder or FS2004 \aircraft folder. If you haven't already done so, follow the instructions on our installation page.

For FSX press the 'S' key to see the 3D cockpit; press the 'A' key to cycle through the various 2D cockpit views. Here's a quick walk around:

  • Press 'E' to start the engine.
  • Press the stick forward and back to see elevators move up and down.
  • Shift + 'E' to see the canopy open and close.
  • Shift + 'E', '2' to open and close the secondary exit.
  • In the 3D cockpit view you'll see the stick and pedals move.

Takeoff
Taxi out to the runway.

Normally, you won't need flaps for takeoff.

Apply full throttle and you'll quickly accelerate.

Rotate at 80 knots. When abeam the end of runway, retract the landing gear. Accelerate to about 120 knots.

Climb to desired altitude.

Landing

Approach speed is about 100 knots. You can drop one notch of flaps and lower the landing gear.

On short final the extend full flaps. You'll continue the approach at 75 knots.

Stall speed is a slow-motion 58 knots so you'll be able to touch down gently on the main gear and ease down onto the nose wheel.
