Flying the Cessna Mustang

Install the Cessna Mustang into your FSX \simobjects\airplanes folder or your FS2004 \aircraft folder. If you haven't already done so, follow the instructions on our installation page.

Press the 'S' key to see the 2D cockpit; press the 'S' key again to see the 3D cockpit and twice more to see the helicopter from the spot plane view.

Here's a quick walk around:

  • Press 'E' to start the engine.
  • Press the stick forward and back to see the elevator move
  • Press the stick from side to side to see the ailerons move
  • Shift + 'E' to see the cabin door open and close

Takeoff

Normally, you won't need any flaps for takeoff. Taxi out the the runway and line up. When you've been cleared, apply full throttle.

When you reach 140 knots, pull back with authority and you'll be airborne.

When abeam the end of the runway, retract the landing gear (press the 'G' key) and you'll quickly build up speed.

Climb to crusing altitude.

Landing

Approach speed is about 140 knots with full flaps.
