Flying the Glassair

Install the Glassair into your FS2002 \aircraft or FS2000 \aircraft folder. If you haven't alredy done so, follow the instructions on our installation page. To look at the Glassair from spot plane view by pressing the 'S' key three times. As you "walk around" notice: If it isn't already on, press Ctrl-Enter to start the engine and watch the prop spin. Move the stick forward and back to see the elevator move up and down. Move the stick from side to side to see the rudder and ailerons move. Press F8 to lower the flaps. Takeoff The Glassair is quite easy to fly. Taxi out and position the aircraft on the runway center line. Set flaps up (F5) and the mixture to rich (Ctrl+Shift+F3) and then using full throttle, accelerate and liftoff at about 85 knots. Easy on the stick, you won't have to pull back very much to enter the climb. Normal climb speed is about 100 knots. When abeam the end of the runway, retract the landing gear ('G'). Climb to your desired cruing altitude and set throttle to cruising speed (165 knots). If you're in a hurry, you can easily set cruise to more than 200 knots. Landing Set the engine mixture to rich and approach the field at about 100 knots. You can drop full flaps anytime you're speed is below 120 knots. Touch down at about 90 knots.
