Takeoff
The Chipmunk is powered by a 4 cylinder inline DH Gypsy Major
10 engine.
Give it full
throttle and push the nose forward slightly to lift the tail
wheel off the ground at about 45 knots. When you've accelerated
to about 65 knots, pull back slightly and the Chipmunk will become
airborne.
From spot view,
you can watch the smooth control surfaces move.

about 120 knots.
Landing
The Chipmunk
handles well at slow speeds. For landing, you can approach at
80 knots with full flaps. It will gently settle onto the runway
with a stall speed of about 50 knots.
