Takeoff
The Concorde typically operates from airports with 8,000+ feet,
hard paved runway. If you press F8-key, its trademark nose lowers
giving you an unobstructed view of the runway. The Concorde doesn't
have flaps.
Because it's
35 feet above the ground, the view from the cockpit will be noticeably
different from sitting in other aircraft. Carefully taxi to the
runway. When you're lined up on the runway, set the brakes and
move the throttle levers forward.
When N1 indicators
on the engine readout reaches 70%, release the brakes and give
it full throttle. Keep the nose wheel on the runway centerline
as you accelerate. At 195 knots ground speed, pull back on the
yoke to 13 degrees and the nose will lift off the ground.
When airspeed
reaches about 215 knots, she becomes airborne. When you retract
the gear the airspeed will quickly build. When it approaches
240 knots, pull back to 20 degrees and to maintain a climb speed
of 250 knots. |
