Flying the Cessna 182T

Install the Cessna 182T to your FSX \SimObjects\Airplanes folder or FS2004 or FS2002 \aircraft folder. If you haven't already done so, follow the instructions on our installation page.

Press the 'S' key to see the 2D cockpit; press the 'S' key again to see the 3D cockpit and twice more to see the aircraft from the spot plane view. Here's a quick walk around:

  • Press 'E' to start the engine.
  • Press the stick forward and back to see elevators move up and down.
  • Shift + 'E' to see the pilot cockpit open and close.
  • Shift + 'E' 2 to see the passenger cockpit open and close.
  • In the 3D cockpit view you'll see the stick and pedals move.

Takeoff
Taxi out to the runway.

Normally, you won't need flaps for takeoff. Apply full throttle and you'll quickly accelerate.

Rotate at 70 knots. When abeam the end of runway, retract the landing gear. Accelerate to about 95 mph.

Climb to desired altitude.

Landing

Approach speed is about 90 knots.

On short final the extend flaps. You'll continue the approach at 75 knots.

Stall speed with flaps is a slow 60 knots. Set down on the main gear and ease down onto the nose wheel.
