Aerostar 700 from the Premier Collection

Flying the Aerostar 700

Install the Aerostar 700 into your FS2004 or FS2002 \aircraft folder. If you haven't already done so, follow the instructions on our installation page.

Press the 'S' key to see the 2D cockpit; press the 'S' key again to see the 3D cockpit and twice more to see the Hornet from the spot plane view. Here's a quick walk around:

  • Press 'E' to start the engines.
  • Press F8 to see the flaps slowly drop into position. Press F5 to retract the flaps for takeoff.
  • Press the stick forward and back to see the elevator move up and down.
  • Press the stick from side to side to see the rudder and ailerons move.
  • Press Shift 'E' to open and close the doors.

Takeoff
Taxi out and position the aircraft on the runway center line.
For normal conditions, you won't need to use flaps.

Give it full throttle. At about 90 knots, pull back on the stick and you'll gently lift off. When abeam the end of the runway, retract your landing gear and you'll build up speed.

Your best rate of climb speed is 117 knots.

Climb to your desired cruising altitude and set throttle to cruising speed (about 200 knots).

Landing

For normal landings you can approach the runway at 110 knots. On short final with full flaps, you'll be flying at 90 knots.

In landing configuration, stall speed is 73 knots.

Touch down on main gear.
