Flying the Adam 500

Install the Adam 500 into your FSX \SimObjects\Airplanes folder or FS2004 \aircraft folder. If you haven't already done so, follow the instructions on our installation page.

Press the 'S' key to see the 2D cockpit; press the 'S' key again to see the 3D cockpit and twice more to see the aircraft from the spot plane view.

Here's a quick walk around:

  • Press 'E' to start the engines.
  • Press the yoke forward and back to see the elevator move
  • Press the yoke from side to side to see the ailerons move
  • Shift + 'E' to see the cabin door open and close

Takeoff

For takeoff, use 20 degrees of flaps. Taxi out the the runway and line up. When you've been cleared, apply full throttle.

With maximum load, rotate at 90 knots, pull back with authority and you'll be airborne.

When abeam the end of the runway, retract the landing gear (press the 'G' key) and flaps.

Maintain 105 knots as you climb to cruising altitude.

Landing

Maintain 140 knots on approach speed. Drop flaps to 10 degrees.

On short final extend lower flaps to 35 degrees, extend landing gear. Your approach speed will be 100 knots.

Stall speed with full flaps is 75 knots, so you let velocity bleed off, you'll settle easily onto the runway surface.
