F4U-1A Corsair

Superior Aircraft from Abacus
for Microsoft FS2004 & FS2002

The F4U-1A was the first version of Chance Vought's gull-wing fighter for use on an aircraft carrier. Designed for speed, it was the first American fighter to fly faster than 400 miles an hour owing to its 2,000 horsepower engine.

In the Pacific, the Corsair was used as a dive bomber, attack plane and night fighter.

This Corsair was designed by Chuck Dome.
