for Microsoft FS2004 & FS2002 |

The design and mehanics of the AH-1 Cobra is based on the earlier UH-1 Huey. The Cobra has been in service for more than 30 years and served as the Army's primary attack helicopter until it was replaced by the Apache. This was the first U.S. military helicopter with air-to-air and anti-radar missile capability. Due to the lower cost of the Cobra compared to the Apache, the Army was able to use them in much larger numbers.
The primary mission is to provide support againt armored targets. It is also used for close air support, escort of transport helicopters and ground convoys, armed reconnaissance, helicopter air-to-air attack, anti-shipping operations and coordinating fixed wing aircraft, artillery, mortars, and naval gunfire. This detailed model made by Dave Marconi is for FS2004 and FS2002.
