F-15C Eagle
This is the Air Force's primary interceptor/attack aircraft with speed, maneuverability, performance, armaments and brains. Designed from the start to give air superiority.
Its weapons and flight control systems are designed so that only one pilot is required. The F-15's radar system can look up at high-flying targets, down at low-flying targets and track aircraft and small high-speed targets from close range to distances beyond visual range.
The F-15C flew in early 1979. Most F-15Cs were delivered with Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-100 turbofans but they were replaced with more reliable F100-PW-220 engines in 1985. The updated electronics suite, make it a much more capable fighter aircraft.
The two turbos with afterburners can propel it at speeds up to Mach 2.5 with a ceiling of 65,000 feet and a range of 3400 nautical miles.
