The DeHavilland Chipmunk was designed as trainer for the British Royal Air Force. This aircraft was originally made and flown by De Havilland Canada and this explains the rustic nickname Chipmunk similar to the Beaver and Otter. DeHavilland Canada made 158 Chipmunks and DeHavilland UK made 740 aircraft. These were used for training at various RAF Squadrons in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The Chipmunk is a low-wing, two-place, single engine aircraft with tail wheel. The control surfaces are fabric-covered and the coopy is clear plastic. The new set of 5 different Chipmunks were crafted by Graham Oxtoby and Dennis Seeley and feature the lastest technology that are now built into FS Design Studio Version 2. Fully animated moving parts including the canopy, 2D and 3D virtual dynamic cockpit and authentic flight model.
