Step 1.
If you haven't already done so, follow the instructions on our installation page to install the EZ-GPS instrument into one or more of your aircraft. |
Step 2.
Start Flight Simulator and from Aircraft | Select Aircraft menu choose the aircraft that has the EZ-GPS instrument from Step 1.
For this example, we'll fly directly from Pontiac (Oakland Co Intl) to the destination airport Lansing. The airport at Pontiac is KPTK and the Lansing airport is KLAN.

Step 3.
Go to the Pontiac airport using the FS menu items: World | Go To Airport and typing the identifier KPTK. Now you can take off and get to cruising altitude. When you reach cruising altitude, press "P" to pause the simulator and we'll program EZ-GPS.

Step 4.
Click FIND.
The destination identifier is KLAN: Use the up-down arrows to select the first letter "K". Use right-arrow to move to 2nd position of identifer and again use up-down arrows to select second letter "L"; similarly for "A" and "N". |

Step 5 .
Press ENT to choose Lansing. The information about this ariport is displayed.
Click the left / right arrows to choose Create Waypoints.
Click ENT. This locks KLAN as the first waypoint for EZ-GPS. The green line shows the path from the current aircraft position to this waypoint.

Step 6 .
Press MENU.
Use the up-down arrows to select AutoPilot and press ENT.
Use the up-down arrows to scroll to Autopilot Master and press ENT to select it (checked).
Similarly use the up-down arrows to scroll to GPS Route Hold and press ENT to select it (which also selects Heading Hold). |

Step 7.
Click EXIT twice to return to the map page.
Press "P" to unpause Flight Simulator. Immediately, your aircraft will start to turn toward the new waypoint.
To show waypoint up, click MENU | Map Settings and uncheck Show North Up.
EZ-GPS will fly you directly to KLAN. |
