Battle
For Midway
- Aircraft and Missions Combat Flight Simulator has proven to be a successful platform for Microsoft. CFS combines an exciting military engine for the gamer and an "open system" with plenty of opportunity for flexibility and expansion. Following the launch of our bestselling Pacific Theatre add-on, we present our second complete add-on for CFS - Battle For Midway. It's complete because it has all of the elements of a true Combat Flight Simulator add-on: New Aircraft and New Missions. And for users of Combat Flight Simulator 1, there's new scenery too. New Aircraft First, Battle For Midway brings you ten of the most famous U.S. and Japanese planes used in the Midway and the Coral Sea areas and two bonus planes - the twin tailed P-38 Lightning and J7W Shinden "pusher". All planes were created especially for Battle For Midway by noted designer Terry Hill. |

New Missions Of course Battle For Midway also places you smack in the middle of Midway and the Coral Sea islands. Master mission builder Chris Steele has created the Battle For Midway missions based on actual events of the Coral Sea and Midway Islands in 1942. You'll fly in the uncharted skies to face a relentless enemy all tuned for a high performance. For CFS1 users only: scenery designer Tim Dickens transforms the enchanting environment of these tropical islands into the unforgiving setting for such a devastating war. Additionally, Tim has created a set of exploding "mission objects." These finely crafted 3D enhancements that behave as you'd expect them to in combat - they explode when they're hit with artillery fire. The "mission object" library is another exclusive feature from Abacus. You can use these mission objects in your own missions as well.
