He grew concerned that the design would not mature, and ordered up two backup biplane designs as the I-14A and B just to be safe. Polikarpov had just been released from prison in August 1932, and was handed the I-14A project. When both the I-14 and I-14A were ordered into production, Polikarpov's design became the famous I-15. 9. Area 51 - AH-64D Apache Longbow for FSX

Area 51 - AH-64D Apache Longbow for FSX

Area 51 Simulations presents the AH-64D Apache Longbow for FSX The AH-64D Apache Longbow, is equipped with an advanced sensor suite and a glass cockpit. The main improvement over the A-variant is the dome installed over the main rotor, housing the AN/APG-78 Longbow millimeter-wave Fire Control Radar (FCR) target acquisition system and the Radar Frequency Interferometer (RFI).

The raised position of the radome enables the detection of targets and launching of missiles while the helicopter is behind obstacles (e.g. terrain, trees or buildings). Radiomodem integrated with the sensor suite allows data to be shared with other D-models; allowing them to fire on targets detected by a single helicopter.

Flight Simulator Specifications - For FSX Only - Very High Detail Exterior and Interior (both cockpits modeled) - Photoreal Textures (including bump maps) - Paint Kit File - Armed and empty versions (Radar and Non Radar Versions included) - US / UK / Japanese / Israel Army Versions - Fly in Both Cockpits Learn More

    Area 51 - AH-1S Cobra for FS2004 & FSX

Area 51 Simulations presents the AH-12 Cobra for FS2004 and FSX The Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter has struck fear in the hearts of the enemy for more than 30 years. Armed helicopters first came into widespread use in Vietnam in the early Sixties. The later models of the AH-1 Cobra, with its proven firepower and maneuverability, went on to fight in every major US military operation since Vietnam. The Cobra continued its service with the US Marines as of 2008, as well as eight other foreign nations. The baseline AH-1S is an AH-1Q upgraded with a 1,800 shp (1,300 kW) T53-L-703 turboshaft engine. The AH-1S is also referred to as the "Improved AH-1S", "AH-1S Modified", or "AH-1S(MOD)" prior to 1988. (Prior to 1988, all upgraded aircraft were referred to as variants of the AH-1S.)
