Its introduction was fortuitous being one of the few aircraft able to intercept and shoot down the V1 flying bomb. Sortie after sortie was flown to keep the rocket powered marauder at bay. Learn More
  2. Saab JA37 Viggen - Download

    Saab JA37 Viggen - Download

Abacus Saab JA37 Viggen for FSX and FS2004 Development of the Saab Viggen began in the mid-1950 as a replacement for the Saab 32 Lansen. The goal was to get an aircraft with the ability to operate from short airstrips, as well as have personnel with minimal training manage upkeep and be capable of Mach 2 at high altitudes and supersonic at low level. In 1960, development was accelerated when Sweden got a defense agreement with the United States. The design concept was approved on September 28, 1962 and Saab built a prototype that took its first flight on February 8, 1967. One hundred and ten of the original AJ 37 Viggen design were made and entered service in June of 1971 with the first full squadron active in 1972. Throughout the 70's, work began to create a variant of the Viggen that would work well with the Saab 35 Draken. With significant enhancements in avionics and a new 30mm cannon, the JA 37 variant was born. Viggen pilots were able to get a missile lock on an American SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft in the 1980's by analyzing the Mach 3+ aircraft. The newer Saab JAS 39 Gripen in the later part of the 1990's forced the phasing out of the JA 37 and it was retired in November 2005. This exquisite design is intended for use with FS2004 and FSX and features: - Authentic Exterior Animation - Custom Sounds - 2D cockpit - Full Virtual Cockpit with Gauges and Controls - Animated canopy - Afterburner Effects Learn More
  3. SU-33 Flanker - Download

    SU-33 Flanker - Download

Compatible with: FSX and FS2004 The Sukhoi Su-33 is a carrier-based air defense fighter designed by Sukhoi. It was used first in operation in 1995 aboard a Russian aircraft carrier. Officially entering service in mid-1998 under the designation "Su-33". Only 24 aircraft were produced due to the break-up of the Soviet Union and all potential orders from China and India were lost. The SU-33 has a stronger undercarriage and structure along with folding wings as well as stabilators compared to the SU-27. These improvements are mainly to allow it to function on an aircraft carrier. Other improvements include larger wings than land-based aircraft, upgraded engines, twin nose wheel and can be refueled in the air. Even with an increased range and payload, over its rival, the MiG-29K, it still falls short of the MiG's more advanced avionics and wider range of missions. This exquisite design is intended for use with FS2004 and FSX and features: - Authentic Exterior Animation - Custom Sounds - Standard Russian Navy livery - 2D cockpit - Full Virtual Cockpit with Gauges and Controls - Animated canopy - Afterburner Effects Learn More

The design for the 14th fighter for the VVS, the I-14, started as an advanced (for the era) monoplane under the direction of Andrei Tupolev. He grew concerned that the design would not mature, and ordered up two backup biplane designs as the I-14A and B just to be safe. Polikarpov had just been released from prison in August 1932, and was handed the I-14A project. When both the I-14 and I-14A were ordered into production, Polikarpov's design became the famous I-15.
